Dr. Debra Barry is an assistant professor in the Department of Agricultural Education and Communication (AEC). Her classes focus on the agricultural education specialization, and are offered in both Gainesville and Plant City.

Originally from Lithia, Florida, Barry is a three-time alumna of the University of Florida and current part-time student, earning her doctorate in AEC. She received her bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate degrees from AEC, specializing in agricultural education (2003, 2010 and 2019, respectively).

Barry serves as an adviser for Gator Collegiate FFA Alumni, guiding the leadership team in Plant City. Additionally, she serves as the coordinator of the Gulf Coast Research and Education Center (GCREC) at Plant City. She advises undergraduate and graduate students at Plant City, and is a faculty committee member for graduate students in both Gainesville and Plant City.
