Dr. Annie Muscato is an instructional assistant professor in the UF/IFAS Department of Agricultural Education and Communication (AEC). An AEC alumna, she earned her Ph.D. in Agricultural Education and Communication with a specialization in Leadership Education from the University of Florida. Her professional background spans education, Extension, leadership development, and university advancement, including roles with the UF/IFAS Florida 4-H Program, UF/IFAS Advancement, the University of Florida Foundation, and Santa Fe College.
Muscato is committed to helping students develop the communication, leadership, and critical-thinking skills needed to address complex challenges in agriculture, natural resources, and communities. Her teaching emphasizes experiential learning, reflection, student engagement, and connecting theory with authentic professional and community contexts. Her scholarly interests include leadership, agricultural leadership, leadership education, humility, and ecological humility. Her doctoral research examined ecological humility among Florida cattle ranchers engaged in land conservation within the Florida Wildlife Corridor, with particular attention to leadership, perspective-taking, systems thinking, stakeholder relationships, and conservation decision-making.
