Dr. Sarah Bush is an assistant professor of agricultural leadership education in the Department of Agricultural Education Communication (AEC) at the University of Florida.
Prior to returning to school to pursue her Ph.D., she worked as a Residence Life Coordinator at Penn State Behrend. She received her Ph.D. from Virginia Tech in Agricultural Leadership and Community Education, Masters of Science degree from the University of Florida in Agricultural Education and Communication, and Bachelors of Science from Penn State University in Agricultural Science with a focus in leadership development. Bush is certified in Kirton’s Adaption-Innovation, Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, Critical Incident Stress Management Group Crisis Intervention, and Cultural Intelligence. In addition, she spends her summers working as the co-director for the Counselor-in-Training program at Iroquois Springs Camp.
Bush was a faculty member at the University of Idaho for four years before returning to the University of Florida. While in Idaho, she developed seven new courses, served as the Idaho FFA convention Internship Coordinator, chaired the professional development committee for the Association for International Agricultural and Extension Education, and served on the CALS IDEA Committee.
Bush focuses her research on building human capacity in communities by examining methods and practices related to change and collaborative problem solving. She has additional research interests in international workforce development, youth leadership development, and leadership program development and evaluation.
