AREAS OF INTEREST
Dr. Carla Jagger is an assistant professor of agricultural education in the UF/IFAS Department of Agricultural Education and Communication.
Originally from Mt. Gilead, Ohio, Jagger is a three-time alumna of The Ohio State University. She received her B.S. degree in agricultural education (2008) before earning her M.S. (2010) and Ph.D. (2016) degrees in the same discipline.
After earning her doctorate, Jagger spent four years as an assistant professor at Mississippi State University. She invests in the professional development, preparedness, and well-being of agriculture teachers at all levels. In addition to teaching undergraduate and graduate students, Jagger is helping to create professional development programming for current agriculture teachers. Her research focuses on cultural competence, effective teaching, and agriculture teacher recruitment and retention.
