Two specializations are offered for the bachelor of science degree at the undergraduate level: Agricultural Education and Communication & Leadership Development. Each specialization requires a core of technical agriculture courses and pre-professional education. Department advisers help students select appropriate electives. Most departmental courses will have no more than 25 students, contributing to the department’s family-like atmosphere.
*Students planning to transfer to the University of Florida for either AEC specialization should refer to the CALS Transfer Guide for information regarding GPA and course requirements.
Expectations and skills
The Academic Learning Compact for Agricultural Education and Communication explains what is expected of all undergraduates and what skills you will acquire by the time you graduate.
Study Abroad Opportunities
A study abroad to Belize is offered over Spring Break. The trip allows students to engage in the Belizean culture while learning about major agricultural issues.
