Paul Monaghan, Assistant Professor
Dr. Monaghan comes to the department with a joint appointment in the Center for Landscape Conservation and Ecology. He is a statewide specialist in community based social marketing (CBSM) with a 65% Extension appointment, 30% research and 5% teaching. His focus is training Extension agents in the CBSM methodology and developing programs with homeowners and homeowner associations that reduce the environmental impact of landscape practices such as water and fertilizer use. Prior to this he was at the University of South Florida where he directed the Partnership for Citrus Worker Health, a CBSM campaign to improve workplace safety in agriculture. He also has a long-term interest in development in Haiti and has conducted extensive research in that country.
