Dr. Sebastian Galindo is a Research Associate Professor in the Department of Agricultural Education and Communication (AEC) at the University of Florida. In addition to his roles with the department, Galindo also serves as faculty affiliate for the Center for Public Issues Education (PIE Center), Florida Climate Institute, Florida Water Institute, Tropical Conservation and Development Program, Master of Sustainable Development Program, and serves as coordinator of the Qualitative Research Community.

Originally from Mexico City, Galindo earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Universidad Veracruzana in 2001. He then came to the University of Florida where he received his master’s degree studying animal sciences (2004) and later his Ph.D. from AEC (2009).

Galindo currently focuses his research on the use of mixed methodologies for the evaluation of research, teaching and Extension initiatives. In addition, he is working on an initiative to simplify the process of assessing the impact of Extension programs by collaborating with other faculty to design a toolbox that standardizes the evaluation process with universal metrics.

His collaborative efforts extend to other departments and agency across the state and country, with experience as a consultant on methodology and evaluation for projects conducted by the Rehabilitation Outcomes Research Center of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the Southeastern National Tuberculosis Center and the Center for Aquatic and Invasive Plants at UF.
